A ground-up rebuild of product traceability

A legacy traceability system replaced end to end, with rugged mobile scanning on the warehouse floor.

The challenge

The manufacturer was running an ageing traceability system that no longer kept up, with around 34,000 historical delivery records that could not simply be thrown away. Warehouse staff needed fast, reliable scanning on rugged handheld devices, not a system designed for a desk.

What we did

We rebuilt the platform end to end: a modern web backend with a clean admin interface, and a mobile scanning app built for rugged Zebra handheld devices with native barcode integration. The full history of roughly 34,000 deliveries was imported into the new system so nothing was lost.

The result

Traceability now runs end to end, from the warehouse floor to the office, with scanning that holds up to real-world use and an admin experience staff can actually navigate. The legacy data came across intact.
