Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Queenstown IT ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles, and — where they apply to information we hold about individuals in Australia — the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

This policy covers information we collect through this website and in the course of dealing with you. Personal information we handle when delivering managed services to our clients is governed by our separate client agreements; this policy concerns information we collect and control directly.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us — for example through our contact form, by email or by phone — we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, the nature of your enquiry, and the contents of your message.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit this website, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. This site uses only the cookies necessary for it to function; we do not use advertising cookies.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and communicate with you;
  • To provide, manage and improve our services and this website;
  • To maintain the security and integrity of our systems;
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless you consent otherwise or we are required or permitted by law.

Disclosure of your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us operate our business and this website — for example, our website hosting, email delivery and content management providers — and only to the extent necessary for them to provide those services. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

Where your information is stored

To run this website and respond to you, your information may be stored and processed by service providers located outside New Zealand and Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled with comparable protections to those required under New Zealand and Australian privacy law.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. As a managed security provider, protecting information is central to how we work. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as required by law. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and in limited circumstances permitted by law we may decline a request — if we do, we will tell you why.

Privacy breaches

If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator as required — the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Australia.

Children

This website and our services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
